Well I am officially EXHAUSTED! I spent most of the heat of the day in the alley, trying to get it cleaned up. We had lots and lots of bricks stacked out there by the fence (they've been there since we bought the house) but the city evidently was tired of it - and I'm sure our neighbors were, maybe the trashman....and who ever else walks down the alley were tired of seeing the hideousness of mess that was back there. I have officially bagged up 6 LARGE black trash bags of leaves/grass/dirt/spiders/cock roaches! I don't mess around, I work my booty off! I think we've loaded 5 pick up truck loads of bricks...probably still one more to go. UGH! (yes I just said UGH like Charlie Brown....but hey, whatever works to get my point across!)
I had to keep rehydrating myself in order to prevent heat stroke! So far so good....headache....but makes me feel good because I worked hard!
We've had a great and amazing week. Cayden had a baseball game on Tuesday (and another tomorrow night) and Addison has been in summer dance all week. She will have it again next week...and then Cayden gets to attend golf camp for the week. It's hard to keep your kids busy during the summer! But so far we've been able to do a pretty good job at staying busy!
I mowed the yard this morning too, fixed lunch/dinner (whatever is left over will be what we eat for dinner..haha) Hamburger patties in cream of mushroom soup, onions and potatoes. The best and easiest meal ever! (let me know if you want the recipe)
All in all - life is wonderful as always!
Thought for the day:
"But make sure that you don't get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can't afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don't loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!" (Romans 12:11-14)
