GPS....

I heard today on the radio about a segment a preacher was going to be doing on his television program, here in New Mexico entitle "GPS-God's Positioning System" There was not details about what he was going to say, but immediately my mind started making sense of that statement! God IS our GPS if we let him be. And I don't know about you, but I don't like to be in a big city, or an unfamiliar city without a GPS telling me where to go. How come I can put so much faith, and so much trust into an electronic device, but I don't allow God to direct me as much as I should???

Seriously, think about it....Let's just talk about a GPS. If we make the wrong turn, it re-routes us and gets us back on the right road. We put in a destination, and trust that it's not going to take us to the wrong place. We get turn-by-turn directions! And how true is that when we allow God to guide us? If we make a wrong turn, he can re-route us and get us back on his path. He gives us goals, hope, dreams, direction...and we can make it happen with his grace. And if we actually listen, he'll give us turn-by-turn directions.

This week, it seems like everything I've read has something to do with the fact that we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listening is something you have to practice doing. Engaging in what someone is talking to you about, nodding, and giving confirmation to the person speaking that you are hanging on every word that comes out of their mouth. I believe God 'speaks' to us in three ways; Our conscience, Through Others, and With His Word (Bible).

So with that, the challenge is simply to let go! Hand over your hand made map - stop refusing to ask for directions, and ask GOD to guide and direct your journey. If you can trust an electronic device.....WHY NOT TRUST HIM? Just a thought.....

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Thus says the Lord, Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17)

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way should go; I will guide you with My eye.” (Psalm 32:8)

“For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death.” (Psalm 48:14)

“The Lord will guide you continually …” (Isaiah 58:11)
