"My grace is enough; it's all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen.
I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift.
It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness.
Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer,
these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks.
I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
I was going through some old photos today of my babies...and I've always heard people say "Kids grow up so fast" - and it's so true! I remember after Addison was born, she was just a little baby and I was watching her sleep in her crib (not in a creepy way..haha) but I just got tears in my eyes because I knew she wouldn't be that little for very long. Now she's turning 11 this year and going into the fifth grade.
I also look back, though - and remember the season I was in at those times, and I can honestly say that I'm so glad God has led me into a new season in my life. I was so blessed last Sunday when I got to attend Lakewood church in Houston, TX & TD Jakes was the guest speaker. I have several of his books, and he is just one of those people God's placed in my life that every word he speaks or writes, it seems as if it's just spoken/written to me. His words make sense, and a lightbulb goes off and I have the 'AHA' moment. (don't take this the wrong way, I do not hang on the man's every word, but I love his perspectives and opinions). His lesson Sunday was how we live in different seasons in our lives. And the things we did in one season cannot possibly work in another season...just as driving in a convertible with the top down in the summer is not going to work in the winter time when it's snowing. He said every season has its own blessings and its own burdens. And that is so true! We have to have to learn to adjust to the seasons in our lives. That is the art of living your life. God also knows the season we are in, he knows how to bless us right where we are and we have to trust that. Because as lovers of Christ, we have the grace we need for the season we are in! We can be content in our life when we recognize the beauty of every season, regardless of the burdens.
If we think about it, the world God created is all in rhythm. The sun rises, the sun sets, the seasons change from summer, fall, winter, spring, summer, fall, winter, spring. Our hearts beat to a rhythm, our blood pumps with rhythm, we breathe in-we breathe out. EVERYTHING has a rhythm...and we have to GET God's rhythm in order to walk with Him. Makes sense right?

I chose the verse above because I loved the part that says that God's strength comes in our weakness. That is his grace: his ability to get us through things we could never do without his help; Grace is an inward supply of his strength and ability to carry out all the decisions we are asked to make in order to please God and carry out His will. 'The weaker we get, the stronger we become' I am so thankful for the weakness in my previous seasons, because it has allowed me to be stronger in my current season. Though there are dark times, we still have to try to remember to look for the beauty, the blessings, - and trust that God knows exactly where we are and he knows exactly how to bless us right where we are.
Looking back at the 'dark, difficult times' in my past....now they don't seem so bad, because I now see what God saw the whole time. It's harder to remember that God is in control when we are right in the middle of it all...but imagine how much easier those times would be if we did!
